Tastefully Simple party

It will be Friday night at 7, I'm expecting only about 10 women, maybe a few husbands to hang out with mine.  What, if any, extra food would you serve?

Re: Tastefully Simple party

  • what is the occasion?

if its a just because, then yes, serve food, but simple food, like frozen appetizers, veggie tray, spinach dip, nothing that requires too much work.

or plan it to be a dessert party since this is after dinner time for most people. just make sure they know its not a late dinner party.

get a cake from costco or bake some pull apart cookies. cut fruit is always good with dessert for the calorie concerned.

7:00 is smack in the middle of dinner for a lot of people, so I would plan on your guests being hungry and possibly expecting something heavier than light hors d'oeuvres or dessert only.  I would maybe even consider doing a dinner or heavy hors d'oeuvres, at least.

  • Agreed with kim.  It's the middle of dinner especially if people needed to come home and get ready to go out for a party.  I'm thinking beef/chicken/shrimp satay, a nice tossed salad, asparagus, Tastefully SImple bread, kettle chips or root veggie chips and a TS dip, a TS key lime cheese ball for dessert and brownies or cookies for dessert.
  • Just to be clear, we'll be sampling a ton of the tastefully simple products, and that is what people expect...samples to see what they may want to buy.
  • But sampling doesn't make a meal and you need to feed people.  I still say some protein on a skewer a salad would be a nice addition to the samples.
  • what is Tastefully Simple?  I've never heard of it.  I thought that you were just saying that you were having a tasteful and simple party...
  • I wouldn't serve anything additional. I was a TS consultant for a couple of years and the point of these parties is to EAT and to eat/sample a lot of products! There's no need for you to prepare anything extra because by the time you get through all the food that's going to be sampled, the food you'd prepare in excess won't be enjoyed. I'd check with your consultant first before even bothering with adding anything else. Trust me, if your consultant is any good, no one will have room to eat anything else. Many barely can get through all the samples a consultant offers... and anything in addition to what your consultant is providing won't even be touched.
  • Most people will remember that you didn't feed them if they have worked all day and didn't get to eat before they came and you gave them samples. and they will remember the next time you have a gathering. Just a thought.

    Good point!

I know that there will be a ton of samples, but I'd probably pick up a tray from Subway or another sandwich shoppe so that people can feel like they're actually getting a meal.
