Hungry Mother was a mixed bag
DH really enjoyed his meal though, which is good because it was his birthday after all.
His catfish entree was better than my French-style gnocchi. The latter just wasn't anything special, despite the fact that it was something repeatedly recommended on Yelp. The corn bread side was yummy, and DH enjoyed his grits.
The best part of the meal though was the brownie and homemade coconut ice cream dessert with bittersweet chocolate sauce. Yuuuuuummmm!
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Re: Hungry Mother was a mixed bag
Hmm there is really nothing southern about gnocchi. Weird. I do love it though.
DH would die before he ate grits. LOL.
I love corn bread.
I love corn bread too, so the side was a no-brainer for me. It was a very different presentation, but good nonetheless. I'm not a huge grits fan but it was fine.
Next time I'm trying the roasted chicken. The fried chicken appetizer is supposed to be good too but I wasn't hungry enough yesterday to get an app (that's what happens when the only reservation you can get is 5:30pm).
Mmmm, cornbread. Now I'm hungry for southern cooking!

DH loves grits, he has them once or twice a week... they're just not my thing.
I'm glad you (sort of) liked it, we might have to try it sometime.
