4/27 - What do you want to be when you grow up?
When you were younger did you think you'd be 'grown up' by the time you reached the age you are now?
I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I still feel like I'm 18 most of the time, so I can't really imagine being 'grown up.' Lately I've been considering going back to school to get a Masters because I think it will help me in the job market...but I don't know what I want to do 5, 10, 15 years from now.
Re: 4/27 - What do you want to be when you grow up?
When I was younger, I definitely thought people my age were grown up. Now that I am that age, I still feel so young. Dh and I discussed this the other day. We wonder if we'll ever grow up per say. We know plenty of people our age that are "grown-up" in the terms we think of it -- as less fun lol. But I don't know I'll ever be that way, at least I hope not. I'd love to always be a kid at heart.
As far as where did I see myself as a grown-up, I always wanted to be a doctor or a lawyer LOL. I would be terrible at both of these professions!! I think I always wanted that because I wanted to make good money and help people. I much prefer my current job as an engineer. As for life, I don't see my current job as my career. My career will hopefully be in coffee with DH. I'd love for us to expand our business into owning cafes and coffee farms in South America and Africa.

So excited to meet Amelia Catherine!
I don't feel grown up at all. I'll be 29 this year. I thought I would feel so much older and more mature at this age... *shurg* Here's hoping I always feel younger than my age!
As for what I want to do when I grow up, I do love my field of work, (public relations.) I think my dream job would be to own a flower and gift shop. I doubt I'll ever actually do that unless we win the lottery and I take it up as a hobby. Considering we don't play the lottery, the outlook is not good
What I REALLY want to do when I grown up (and like MrsZ I'll be 29 this year, so I'm not sure when that'll happen-lol) I want to get back into working with children/adults with special needs. I've worked with the NC Autism Society and in a special needs classroom and i LOVE it....just haven't found something like that here in G'ville yet.
I definitely thought that 25 would feel a lot more grown up than it does. I still feel like playing house.
When I was little, I wanted to be an elem school art teacher. Sometimes I wish I'd gone that route....
I'm actually going to be 29 this year, too! It sounds so old to say. haha! Anyways, I always wanted to do something in the "business" field or become a doctor, and I am currently using my business degree. I really wish that I had chosen a different path in business- Accounting or MIS, but I'm happy enough. My dream is really to own a business where I feed people- whether that be a restaurant or pub, or whatever.
I definitely don't feel "old" and don't think that I am ready for some of the responsibilities of adulthood- namely, having kids. I wish I were, but I'm really not at this point.
I don't know either! Right now I'm not working and kind of enjoying it; although it's not something I ever imagined. I've always worked and I like to keep busy so on top of my regular day job, I always seemed to work part-time in the evening doing something fun just for something to do (the extra money was always nice too)!
I've had some jobs that I really liked but not really sure. My background/education is in healthcare and I've thought about going back to that direction but most recently I did HR/recruiting and really liked it too! I've thought about going back to school to do something completely different....teaching, HR, interior design....
My ideal situation would be to open up a children's boutique here in the area! Prior to moving down here, I worked at one in Grand Rapids for quite a while and it was, by far, my favorite job! I had always considered after that wanting to have my own but it wasn't something that would be viable up there (I didn't want to compete against the one I worked at). When I found out I was moving, it was something I seriously started considering but funding is always an issue, so we'll see what happens!
Uhm.. I feel like.. we should be friends
