This girl on the WC board, but she's not the first.  Some people are complimentary, some don't even realize my age until they see my profile, but some are just plain rude.

I can't imagine being a super *** on the internet, that is just so spineless.

At the end of the day- you're the only one who can decide what's best for you and DH for him, and if getting married when you did was the right thing for the two of you- then that's the glory of being an adult.

I was married at the age of 19, and it was not the right decission for me, but that was my mistake to own.  Many people get married at a young age and live happily ever after forever, many people get married in their 40's and divorce within 6 months.  If people have a problem with your age, because of how you act, thats one thing, but the decissions you make are your's to own and celebrate/learn from.

I agree with Megamuffin....but really...if you are going to go on the national boards you are going to need to get a thicker skin. Yeah she razzed you about how young you are, but she really didnt say anything that was so horrible that it needed to be posted over here for attention.

I have gotten flamed on the national boards for asking very valid questions. 1) I let it roll off my back and 2) I didnt post it on my local or anniversary board that I just got flamed.

Just dont acknowldege those types of posts, it only opens the door for them to say other stuff.

People are just so rude.  Why would someone comment to you about that, not their business.  Hubby and I would have married that young but his rule was I had to complete college and he wanted to start his career so he could support us (we dated since we were 14 and knew we were meant to be together).  Those people will the be divorced ones while you two are still happily in love.  Screw them!  The best revenge is living a happy life!  As long as you two are happy and in love.....that's all that matters

i, like you, got married young, we were 20 and frankly we're still making it work and other couples have told us we set such a great example. This was coming from friends of all ages who have been divorced or on marriage 2 or 3 even. It's your choice and you did what was right by you. When your older and it's your anniversary and you state 10 years they'll be shocked at how good you'll look and assume your older than you actually are. This is the reality i am now in only it's offically been 7 years.

It's the internet and girls are catty. don't get personal especaily on the national boards

They are jealous that you found your love at a young age. I think if I found my Hubby at your age, I would have married him too. Plus, my parents were married at like 21/19 so what is the big difference now? Oh well, you are married and YOU made that choice not them.

I think 19 is too young to get married, And I am certainly not jealous.

I am a completely different person than I was at 19. My teenaged self had very different goals and priorities than the adult version of me. Even though I thought I was "mature" and "grown up" and ready to get married.

I'm also very glad I didn't meet DH when I was that young. I wouldn't have been able to appreciate him at that time.
