What are you reading??

I really need a good book to read. I am not really into deep reads where you really need to think about them. I just want something fun and light. What are you reading now or what do you recommend? Thanks!

Re: What are you reading??

  • I am re-reading Breaking Dawn Smile But after that I am going to get my hands on The 19th Wife. It's a book about life in a polygamist sect, so maybe not the light read you're looking for Wink Also on the list after that are some other books by Philipa Greggory (Other Boleyn Girl author), The Host, Some Borrowed, Baby Proof...

  • I lurve the Undead series. It starts with Undead and Unwed - hilarious!

The Shopaholic series is always good for mindless entertainment - and Kinsella just wrote another one "Remember Me."

  • I did finish "A Walk to Remember" about a month ago. I thought the book was good, but since I have seen the movie so many times and love it, I was disappointed by all the differences. I am excited to see the movie "Nights in Rodanthe" (sp?) based of the Sparks book.

I felt the same way. I didn't connect with the storyline as much in the book...it truly flowed differently than the movie for me!

  • I read the Twilight series last week, I could not put it down!  Before that I read the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series, which was fun and light reading.  Also read Racing in the Rain.

not reading anything now, I'm busy with grad school reading unfortunately.

I will have to look for the 19th Wife, I read a bunch of FLDS books earlier this summer and loved them, Escape was my fave.

  • I'm starting over with the Harry Potter series. I hope to get my hands on the Twilight series as well (it's a little tougher from Switzerland though...). Before this I read 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad', 'Smart Women Finish Rich', 'Retire Young, Retire Rich', and 'Dress Your House For Success' - sorry not really light and fluffy reading...
  • I just bought the Twilight series 50% off from Walmart.com - so I'm waiting for it to arrive. (thank you bargainist.com!!) I think I might have to hit half price books though if they're having a sale!

  • I am in need of something else to read too, but favorites of mine lately are the Shopaholic series (I want to read some of Sophie Kinsella's other stuff too), anything by Jennifer Weiner (Good in Bed, In Her Shoes, Little Earthquakes, The Guy Not Taken, and I know I'm missing some), and also Emily Giffin (Something Borrowed, Something Blue, Baby Proof, and Love the One You're With).  Happy reading!
  • I read The Last Lecture this summer and loved it!

Now I'm reading Tim Russert's book that has essays about fathers. There is some great stuff in it!

  • I second the pp about the undead and unwed series.  I just finished them, all but the hardcover that came out.  I really liked them, very good summer reads, light and fun.  I have just stared Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris, I think it is good so far. Apparently, I have a thing for vampires, first Twilight series, Undead and Unwed, and now Dead until Dark.  Maybe because all the men in vampire books are so yummy...
  • I'm nearly finished with The Book Thief by Zusak. It's really good, but not a light read. (It's set in Nazi Germany.) I had to pause reading it, though, to read Narrative of the Life of Fredrick Douglass (by Saturday) and I'll finish The Book Thief and start The Long Emergency (for class), followed by Eat. Love. Pray (also for class).

ETA: I got the title wrong, it's Eat. Love. Pray. Oops.?

  • Tomorrow I will be starting The Kite Runner. Before that I read A Hollywood Ending. I suggest joining goodreads.com. The site will look at your reading list and show you what other people who have read the same books have read/are reading. Its a great way to keep track too!
