"house" hunting

Hi ladies,

I usually post on the NH knot board but thought that you girls might have some thoughts for me! :o)

My new husband and I are currently looking to purchase our first condo/townhouse in the Nashua/Merrimack area. We're looking for something verrrrry affordable (under $150) that we could put a little elbow grease in and make our own and I was just wondering if you have any suggestions of communities that we should look at or avoid all together.

TIA!

Re: "house" hunting

  • Congratulations on yur recent nuptuals.  My husband and I are also looking in the Nashua area, but for houses around you price point, not condos.  If you haven't discovered it already beangroup.com is a great website for searching properties.  Good luck!

  • Congratulations and good luck in your search for a new home!  The only place I would say to avoid is Webster Green in Merrimack.  I have a friend who had insect trouble and even rats.  I am not saying all the units there are horrible..some might be very nice, but I do know that one friend had a tough time there.

  • It's funny that Jenny said not to live in Webster Green.  I was going to recommend checking it out.  I lived there until last winter and I loved our unit.  The sound insulation was awesome so I never heard my neighbor at all.  The neighborhood was quite quiet too and we never had any issues there with bugs or rodents or anything for that matter.

If you do check it out, see what is happening with the association though.  We've heard that things have gotten a bit funky since we left.

  • Thanks for your help girls!Big Smile
  • I'm not sure if they would fit into your price range and I don't know too many people with condos, but I have been inside of a couple of the Bluestone Condos which are right off of DW in South Nashua.  Those are pretty decent and close to alot (which could either be a good or a bad thing, depending on your perspective).

    Good luck!

  • Check out nneren.com That is the only site I used and it's how we found our house. Good Luck!
  • Hey Candice!!

    Your wedding looked beautiful!!

Not sure if your open to Manchester but we live in a really nice condo complex and I know there are few for sale in our building. people are quiet and neighbors are nice. Also there are new town homes being built and condo's around the corner.
