Nature/Camo Baby Shower Theme Invites
The shower theme sounds a bit much, but I'm catering to the bedding theme (baby deer/nature/green&brown) and the idea of Operation Shower. Operation Shower is a non-profit organization that host showers and collects baby gifts for military wives/expecting military women. The mom-to-be for this shower is a former National Guard member and so is her husband. So in honor of them, guests will have the opportunity to bring one item for the Operation Shower donation. With this, I am having trouble narrowing down ideas so it doesn't look like a cluster of themes. What I have so far is the green/brown colors with a dessert bar (for an easy afternoon party). Any other ideas as far as decor? Also, having a lot of trouble coming up with invite wording that's not too "baby"????

Make sure that you choose your wording according to you theme. It makes it always interristing and make sure you have some games for the mommy to play as old song from her school days and if she gets a word wrong a punishment is there for her like to eat a piece of choclate in apple juice (baby poop and pee) in a glass. Its always nice to have gmes on baby showers. Hope i have been some help.
If you are worried about confusion, I would let the brown/green camo be the only carryover from the bedding and go with a camo/military-ish theme to tie in the Operation Shower. Idea for wording:
Let's salute the newest member of the [Couple's Surname] Troop
If gender is not known, leave it at that, if boy-mention that it is a boy somewhere in the body of the invite since green and brown are somewhat neutral.
The gift + donation thing (you normally see one or the other) could be tricky, so I would make sure the main invite specifies that the couple is registered at xyz and then I would provide a business card size paper inside the invitation envelope saying briefly what the charity is and that the couple is accepting donations for the military moms if the guests choose to bring something (and you could ask for a specific item -like a book or diapers, etc.).

Who picked the theme? You or the mom-to-be? Is the camo thing more of a military thing or a hunting thing? If you give more specific info, I can help you better.
First, I'd ask the mom-to-be (if you haven't already) what she wants. Many times the theme of the shower is the theme of the nursery, and you'd hate for her to get things she doesn't care for.

It looks like you could make them any size. Maybe give them to the mom-to-be for her to decorate the nursery? If you are going to keep the camo idea you could get some camo fabric and put that under the deer.
