Selling house = leaving garden
Our house is on the market (with an offer on it), and all those months all I wanted to do is sell it...
Now that it is spring my gardens are really starting to pop up, and I can't help but to be a little sad at the thought of potentially leaving them behind.
I've put a lot of work into them the last three years, especially last year with planting some great perennials that are really starting to fill in now! The gardens aren't spectacular, but I did love putzing around weekend mornings in them. If we do sell, it will be the end of may and I won't have a place to put a garden where we are moving to.
Its just a bummer.
Re: Selling house = leaving garden
Oh, I know how you feel. I've considered moving and have thought the same way. I have put so much work and money into the gardens around my house and I'd be so sad to leave it all if we moved. I'd also be sad because most people don't care for gardens and neglect them. On the bright side, moving also means new garden plans and new plants. I'd love that part!
The most thoughtful thing you could do is map out your work, on paper, for the future owners.
If I ever sell my house, I'm going to leave the landscape plan. I'd be crushed to see all this destroyed because someone didn't know any better.
Come to think of it, I may have to make sure I'm selling to someone who will appreciate it. I'll have to come up with an exam of some sort for prospective buyers....
