Back with another ?--Gyno recs?

Hey ladies, you've been very helpful!  I have another question, but this one has a list of preferences.  I have special issues in the gyno department, so I need a special doctor in the Durham/Raleigh/Roxboro area.  I'd prefer someone with a ton of patience and understanding, preferably gyno-only (not ob/gyn), possibly with oncological experience, preferably a woman (but not absolutely required), who is taking new patience.  Not much, right?  Thanks in advance!

Re: Back with another ?--Gyno recs?

  • I don't have specific experience but I have heard good things about Dr. Myra Teasley at Mid Carolina Ob-gyn.  She practices solely gyn/well woman care.  I'm not sure about her onc experience.  This isn't the office I go to so I don't have personal experience.   You may want to look into the Duke system for gyn as they may have more oncology experience.
  • I'll look into Dr. Teasley, thank you!  As for the other, I don't have specific onco-gyno issue, but I do have residual onco-bladder issues that I find benefits from someone with that sort of general vicinity background.

  • I'll send you a PM.
  • I see Dr. Teasley.  IDK about her oncology experience...I have prior cervical cancer issues though.  She is wonderful and absolutely the most patient doctor I've ever seen.  At my first appointment, she sat and talked with me in her office before I even went into an exam room.

This is great!  That's the sort of attention I want!

It wouldn't let me reply to your PM for some reason.  Thanks for the rec!  Truthfully, anywhere I go will be a drive because I live in BFE southern VA, and I anticipated having to go to Durham/CH for a decent doc.  I'm definitely going to look into her as well as Dr. Teasley!
