how thrilled I am Tebow went in the first round?
I'm so excited about training camp I can't stand it.
Re: Did I mention...
As a lifelong Gator Hater I was glad to see this too, but do you think he'll get playing time anytime soon or will he just be a bench warmer? Was he chosen for his on field skills or locker room skills? As in keeping the team motivated, etc etc
The Broncos just traded for Orton last season. Considering that, I seriously doubt that Tebow will play very much. I'd say that he definitely will not be a starter unless Orton is injured, suspended, has a major meltdown, or something like that.
I also think that the first round was too high (to draft a QB in general). Look at Clausen and McCoy... They didn't go in the first round, and I feel like they were just as strong of picks as Tebow.
In general, I don't think that QBs who are forced to start in their rookie year will do very well. That goes for any rookie, Manning included. He only won, what, 2 games as a starter in his rookie season (correct me if I'm wrong here)?
Jamarcus Russell probably could have been great in the NFL, but maybe he needed to sit on the bench and play some garbage time behind a real solid QB before being a starter. I think Matt Ryan is the rare exception to this, but then again, he dropped off in his second year...
Yeah, I don't know how much play time he'll see, except for some 'specialty' plays for the first season or so. That being said, I think it's a good arrangement for him -- he won't be thrown out there right away, will have some time to adjust a bit, etc.
Go Broncos!
Hi ladies! I haven't posted here in months....but I thought I'd chime in.
I don't see Tebow getting any playing time this season...at least, not with the Broncos. Not only did Denver just get Kyle Orton last year, they also got Brady Quinn from the Browns during the off-season. Either the Broncos really want to be prepared at the QB position in case of injury, or they're stacking up trade bait.
