@mrs.erin: I've never been to a Charger's game but I've been meaning to go!  Do you have any secrets about how to get good deals on tickets???

 I love to go to the Farmer's Markets (mostly La Jolla), hike in Torrey Pines, and see shows (if you like live theater, check out Goldstar.com for good tickets!)

If tickets are available and you don't mind not having alcohol, I'd get tickets in the "family section."  It's basically "no alcohol and no swearing" (we had season tickets there before we moved) and tickets are pretty reasonable -- $50 or so a game.

Otherwise, I think StubHub is a good way to go too... you may be able to get tickets below face value and you'll know they will be legit.  

You should definitely go if you get a chance!

If you dont mind pre-season games you can typically score awesome seats on StubHub for the games in August.  Ive seen tickets as low as $10--most season ticket holders just unload those tickets because they are forced to buy them. 

Last year they were selling a mini season ticket pack and I think the seats were around $80 a person and they did have stuff in the family section.

Padres games and walks around Mission Bay or Coronado...these seem to be my favorite things right now to do in San Diego

I love going to the Zoo, or the Wild Animal Park (though the zoo has gotten far better now that they re-did a lot of it), Balboa Park, Coronado, we also take our dogs to dog beach in Del Mar, ooo the San Deigo Fair (though it will still always be the del mar fair to me!)
