So DH has not had a cigarette since Halloween. It was actually a couple of weeks before then but since he cheated on the no smoking on that day, I restarted his countdown. Well, since tomorrow will be 6 months smoke free, I want to acknowledge it but at the same time, not make him think of it either. Does that make sense. I want him to know I'm proud but don't want to bring all those smoking desires back up the surface.
Re: WWYD?
Good grief...
... my first thought was "Impromptu Steak & BJ Day".
How about a nice card with a hand-written note saying how proud you are of him, how happy you are that he's your husband and David's dad, what a good role model he is, how hard he works, etc. You know... an 'atta boy.
Or you could make him his favorite dinner.
Find a sitter for David and then have the favorite dinner at home. Or dinner out at his favorite place.
Is there one thing he absolutely LOVES? (like cake from XYZ restaurant. Or beer from ABC Brewery. Or going golfing at DEF Course.) Get that for him on your way home from the zoo tomorrow (if you take David.)
Paula, that was my first thought too, lol!
I can see about a sitter. I just feel bad because my IL's work really hard during the week and David is a handful as of late.
I can see if my SIL can talk to MIL about it...
Oh and he is strange, he has no favorites. He does like to golf but I just don't know where he'd prefer to go, his preferences keep changing. It really depends who he goes and golfs with.
Yeah... you have to save something for Father's Day!
Breakfast in bed, maybe? That's always tough to sneak out of, though.
