Re: Cell Phone Poll

  • My office is pretty quiet so I keep mine on vibrate.  If I'm having a big text convo I'll put it on silent so I don't disturb the ladies in the cubicles next to me with buzzing every few seconds

  • I was just curious what some of the responses would be because I have heard phones going off all morning.  I personally put mine on silent or vibrate but I'm finding more and more people who just let it ring.  If they answer right away it's not the end of the world but the worst offenders seem to be the people who leave it on their desks and then go into meetings all day.

  • I don't put mine on silent. I work in a super casual office (in a Victorian farmhouse), plus my phone may ring twice a week during work hours.

  • If I worked in a cubicle or in an open office environment, I'd have it on silent. Since I usually keep my office door closed, I don't mind having it ring since I don't think anyone can hear it. If I'm feeling social and have the door open, I put it on vibrate.

  • I try to keep mine on vibrate, but not always. I have a pretty casual office with only 2 other people, and my phone hardly ever rings during business hours...

  • I'm a teacher and I am expected to bust the kids for having phones at school.... so mine is silent and in my coat dowstairs in the workroom when I'm up in my classroom.  I do know some teachers who have been pretty embarrassed by having them go off during class - one teacher's started ringing in her file cabinet and it took five minutes for her figure out that it was hers, another had hers go off in her back pocket... and her ringtone was Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie"....
