Places to go for a weekend in Nov.
I want to go away for a night in Mid-November. I want to be able to drive there Saturday, stay that night and come home Sunday. I would be willing to drive up to maybe, five hours in any direction.
Where would you suggest? Thanks!
Re: Places to go for a weekend in Nov.
Southwest Michigan.... any bed & breakfast there and a trip to any of the local wineries
Galena IL is beautiful! It is unlike any other place in Illinois! It's about a 3 hours from the city. Trails, Vinyard, darling town, fishing, binking, great restaurants, horsebackriding- you name it! You can rent small places in Eagle Ridge Territory. Here is a couple of links....If you choose to rent...pick Dixie rentals (they are the most reasonable!)
Good luck, and enjoy!

Galena is so cute and would be gorgeous in the fall. very cute downtown area, lots of bars & restaurants. I'm sure they have some fall festival going on too. Word of caution - don't drive there in the dark! There's lots of winding curvy country roads and no lights and low-flying clouds (fog) so it's very difficult to drive in.
Starved Rock would be pretty as well! IN wineries and B&B?
