Green and Cheap: Recommend your blog
I have been making small EF changes myself for over a year and I've decided that it's time to start making bigger changes and get MH on board. He is tentative because he left his job and is applying to law school, so finances are tight and he's afraid being green is too expense for us at the moment. I was able to talk him into making our own household cleaners because that is cheap, and to wash clothes in cold water because that saves a little bit of money. What other changes can we make that will save money, and maybe even help us afford the more expensive changes (like buying organic.) TIA
Re: Green and Cheap: Recommend your blog
My blog (see siggy) is all about living green and frugal.
Anything that reduces energy and gas is good for saving money (bike instead of drive, unplug electronics and keep lights off when not in use, line dry clothing). You can also switch to re-usable towels for cleaning, cloth tissues, etc. Use what you have or buy used instead of buying new. Cook from scratch, and shop the farmer's market or get a CSA for organic produce. HTH!
