Hey girls! I just got on facebook to find this post and the responses... WTH? Who would think thats okay to put that on an invitation? You can't tell anyone what to get you. The stupidity of some people amazes me. By the way, this poster (this that a word?
is an acquintance through my husband so I don't know her that well.
WEDDING PLANNING POSTER: is it rude to put cash gifts only on wedding invations??
PERSON A: Yes that would be very frowned upon:)
Re: FB Post
They could try some spelling and sentence structure. Thinking outside of the "WE WANT" box would be also be helpful.
Geez. I think she needs to be reminded that gifts aren't required for a wedding. Sure 99% of people do it, but you should expect it and you definitely shouldn't tell them what they can and can't get you.
Isn't the general rule that you shouldn't put anything about gifts whatsoever on wedding invitations. Oh, and to whoever said they knew lots of people who were doing it, I've never seen it and I've been invited to at least 10 weddings in the past 2 or 3 years.
If I got an invitation from anyone that said that I would think that was really rude. I hope we don't get invited to this wedding either. I know, how awful but it seems like some people invite every person they know to get gifts.
I never responsed to this post or any of the other ones that she's posted. She's had some other good ones too but I thought that this one was really bad.
Some of the things that are okay in some areas really amaze me. One of the girls I know has had three boys and she was thrown a shower by her family the first time. The second two, she threw herself. Nobody said anything too her, I asked. She said nobody offered so she did it because she couldn't afford to buy more clothes or anything. Hello! Why are you having another child then?!
