Morning ladies!
Is today going to be a moody or a magnificent Monday?
I'm not really sure what kind of today today will be. If I get to leave the school for lunch today then work will be good. The kids are finished with school at the end of the month so I have a ton of work to do before my teachers leave for the summer and that will make the next few weeks go very quickly. After work, well, who knows. MH's grandmother is not doing well so we're all kind of just waiting and watching to see how much longer she'll be here. This makes for very tense interactions with MH's dad's side of the family. I find myself asking for patience quite often these days to deal with everyone.
Here's hoping that ya'll have magnificent days!
Re: Moody or Magnificent Monday?
I'm totally on the Moody side of the line today...
I'm feeling pessimistic about the state of my neighborhood today and sort of regretting spending money on it. Over the weekend, and thank god we were at my folks' cabin, there was a manhunt through our neighborhood that ended in a standoff at an apartment complex 2 blocks away from my front door. The two guys murdered a police officer and seriously injured another before they were caught - and this was AFTER they carjacked someone else.
Apparently the scumbags knew someone in the apartment and spent time there before - one of the residents they interviewed for a news story was talking about how they'd barbecued last summer. Gives me the creeps knowing that I could have very well walked my dog past a cop killer since it is across the street from the park that I take Lucy to stretch her legs.
Maybe I'm not so much moody as just sad about the state of the world.
I'm hoping it turns out to be magnificent, but it's already not looking that way. Work-study was late and no one else is in the office--yet they'll claim they were invisible and present and lie on their time sheets saying they were here at 8:30 (as usual). Did you know, it is a felony in IN for state employees to lie on their time sheets? Yet, no matter how many times this issue is reported, nothing happens. IN really needs to start acting on things like this--it would save the state a lot of money to not pay a salary to people who aren't here.
Off tangent now! So, the first call was an irritated parent that contacted us when she should have contacted another office. The information on the letter actually directed her to the other office. Actually, she shouldn't be calling, her son should. Cut the cord. I don't care if he'll only be a freshman. Cut the cord!
I'm somewhere in between. Magnifoody? Moodnificent?
All in all I had a good weekend (Melting Pot incident aside), but it went by too fast. My husband also took today off, and that makes me jealous.
On the good side, though, he's going to be interviewing contractors for our new floors (yay!). And Pugsly is going to the groomers today, so no more smelly dog... (double yay!).
I'd rate today as a 6.5 (0= Apocolypes, 10=Bestest Day Ever).
moody for me...
When I weighed in on Friday I hadn't lost anything all week and I checked again this morning and I'd gained 2 lbs! I haven't cheated on my diet or anything so yeah...moody.
Today started out pretty cranky, since there are guys cleaning the brick exterior of our building. The scraping they do makes my toes curl.
But they've moved on to another part of the building where I can't hear them anymore and the rest of my morning has been nice and relaxing. I made another sale just now and that makes me really happy.
MrsMuffin - The black yarn for your hat arrived this weekend, so I should be able to start on that tonight.

That sounds seriously amazing!
Today is moody (but not too bad) because it feels like the slowest day ever- I can't believe it's not even noon! I have absolutely nothing to do, and I am just sitting here staring at the computer screen. That and I'm exhausted and the rainy day today would have been perfect for sleeping in...
I am on the fence. I do have to work this evening which makes me moody since the Mr is working a day. We won't see each other at all for the next 3 days. Also I have to pay in on my income tax almost 700.00. I am vicious about it since pretty much every year up to now i've gotten a refund which they took and put on my student loan debt. I finally am student loan free and I have to pay in. WTF!
It's a little magnificent though because I have dance tonight and hopefully the charge nurse will let me take both of my breaks together so I can go.
Too soon to tell. On the moody side, one car is still in the shop, so I'm looking at a 3 hours bus/train/shuttle commute in to work.On the maybe side, the recipient of the full time position at work will be notified today. Please oh please let it be me.....
On the magnificent side, I only have a 4 day week because after months of planning, Operation 4 Uh-Oh goes in to effect on Thursday. I'll be taking my soon to be 40 husband to Las Vegas for his birthday. I've paid for everything, including tix to LOVE. 4 days of complete drunken, sunny fun. Can't wait!
Thanks to Karen, it's now a Magnificent Monday!!!
Woot! Thanks!! Although, the idea of putting on a warm hat in this muggy heat we're having in Maine today makes me cringe!
Oh, I know. Wool is the last thing I would want to put on right now, but it'll be there when it decides to snow again mid-May or come fall.

My day had been pretty chill actually till about 15 minutes ago. I had just gotten back from walking the dog (getting out all his nervous energy before I leave to run some errands) and as we walking the parking lot, I noticed a dump truck backing into the spot next to me.
Okay, I thought maybe they were just going to park it there. Umm, no. They opened up the back hatch and dropped a load of gravel...next to my car, like if I wanted to leave I'd have to stand on the gravel pile to get in. WTF guys! I thought maybe they talked to the office to see who the car belonged, tried knocking on my door to see if I could move it, maybe even left me a note apologizing for the inconvenience cause I wasn't there. Nope, Nadda, Nuttin'. What gets me, there are whole lotta empty spaces in the parking lot, why did you have to dump right next to my friggin car?
On the plus side, H comes home tonight! He spent the weekend 4-wheeling with some buddies and then went on ahead last night to finish some work in a town north of here.
I'm sorry kel, I hope you get a bit of sunshine today.
I can't believe you're down to almost 2 weeks before the move! Packing is the hardest thing, but it gives you a great chance to downsize and organize. Everything will get done in no time! Good Luck!
