DH recently did his first triathlon. He loves doing it. Well, he loves biking and swimming and is putting up with the running part. He's looking at getting a tri-bike. He's looking at Cervelo (P3 I think). I'm interested to hear your opinion on tri-bikes and Cervelos.

Hey BB!  That is so neat your DH loved doing the Tri!!  Unfortunately, I'm not up on my triathlon equipment....though I've always thought highly of Cervelos!  I know when Dh and I were up in Lake Placid, NY we saw a good number of ironmen/women training on C-velos and it was recommended to me, that if/when I were to delve into Tris to test ride one of them (recommended by my bike shop in NY that fit me to my Pinarello--they knew my measurements, strengths, style of riding--and it was unsolicited advice--they didn't even sell Cervelos).  Don't know if that helps or not.  I don't think you could go wrong with one, unless it doesn't fit him well.  From what I gather, though, because of the position, and the fact that you are always in a "forward" position (as opposed to occasionally riding on the hoods and not the drops like you might on a road bike) it may be uncomfortable at first and his balance and control of the bike will be different than on a road bike.  That's about the only thing I know for sure about a tri bike!!  Wish him well!!
