I did a little digging around my potatoes and found lots of them growing. Most are about the size of a large plum. They are yukon gold potatoes so they aren't supposed to get really big. Is it ok to go ahead and harvest some now or will that hurt the plant? Logic tells me that harvesting some now will free up the space for more to grow, but I just wanted some reassurance.

You can eat them whenever. Baby potatoes are delicious.
I've never tried to take just some of them, though. We always just pulled up the plant and ate the whole hill.
