Visiting Nashville

My DH and I will be visiting Nashville soon. What are things we must do? Where should we eat? We will be staying downtown near the Country Music Hall of Fame. TIA!

Re: Visiting Nashville

  • What kinds of things do you like to do? And what sort of food do you like? Do you want to do the country thing or just explore the city?
  • My husband will eat anything and I am game for anything except BBQ or Thai. We will go to the country music hall of fame but aside from that we will want to explore the city.
  • As far as places near downtown, Watermark, Sambuca and Radius 10 are all very good spots to eat. If you are willing to venture a out of the way (not sure if you will have a car), Loveless Cafe is very 'Nashville' and is delicious for brunch. So is the Pankcake Pantry, for that matter, and it's a little closer. There are tons of good places to eat, depending on what you want - I would suggest visiting nashville.citysearch.com for ideas.

As far as stuff to do, the Hall of Fame is great, and I would also suggest stopping in at Hatch Show Print on Broadway, wandering around the Riverfront Park, and definitely reserving a night for visiting all the honkytonk bars. Bluebird Cafe is another great spot for live music, though it is not downtown.

If you are interested in outdoorsy stuff, Cheekwood is a really pretty garden/mansion, and Radnor Lake is gorgeous for a hike. There's a bit of everything here, it really all depends on what you want to do!

  • The Hillsboro Village area is nice. Cabana is a nice place for dinner. It has a great ambiance and great menu. You'll want to make reservations though.

[I lived in Nashville my entire life (up until I got married).]
