Unique Bridal Shower Centerpieces?
I'm looking for unique ideas for a summer bridal shower. I'm tired of votives and potpurri type centerpieces. Have you seen anything fresh and contemporary lately? The wedding colors are fall-like, orange, navy, greens, but the shower doesn't necessarily have to have those colors.
Thanks!

Re: Unique Bridal Shower Centerpieces?
People in your area are doing potpourri for centerpieces?
You don't need gimmicks to have a nice shower - fresh flowers never, ever go out of style and they can be quite affordable. You could have a lot of fun with orange and green for colors in the middle of the summer - make it a citrus theme, oranges and limes. You could do a small cake on every table on a little stand, if that isn't too tired in your area.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
Feather boas? I did this for my sisters 30th looped around votive cups
Um, we have a company around here that does Edible Fruit Arrangments, so people can eat thier center piece...that will cost you about 40 a table though
um, anything that could be related to honeymoon, like lei's, coconuts, boats
Unfortunately yes, potpourri centerpiece with a votive is high class. Trust me, a small cake centerpiece would be considered futuristic where I live!
I totally agree with TarHeels. To help with your flower budget, go with one color for all the flowers. Maybe white. It'll make a bigger impact. And citrus will definitely give it a fresh, summer feel. Hope this link helps!

For my bridal shower my mom did a few very nice decorations. For the centers of the tables she had a square glass vase with silk flowers on a vine, pebbles, and water in it. The flowers floated in the water. You can even put floating candles on top. Then, at each place she put a paper fan with a little tissue paper "flower" on it. Also, she bought various sizes of oriental fans in amazing colors. I think from ebay.
Everone loved them and wanted to take things home.
I like the citrus idea.
My mom got little bowls (the size of a fruit bowl), tied a ribbon around them, and then filled them with hershey kisses in my wedding colors (with our names on the bottom). There were three little bowls to a table (3 long tables). She ordered extra kisses for the welcome bags/wedding favors, since my shower was mostly friends and few family.
I love to use ostrich feathers in centerpieces. Makes em nice and poofy and fun looking, and they're pretty inexpensive.
