What to plant with Knock-Out Roses?

I'm replanting our landscaping.  We are wanting to use Knock-Out roses, but I am at a lost of what else to plant with them as filler and/or ground cover.  Suggestions?

Re: What to plant with Knock-Out Roses?

  • I googled this recently and found recommendations for salvia, shasta daisy, and campunela. I planted shasta daisy becky in front of mine yesterday, but too soon to say how it looks yet.

BTW, I love my knock out roses. I am in zone 5 and they bloom non stop from early June through mid November for me!

  • I am about to put knock out roses along a fence row, and between them ornamental grass as filler.

  • I have ornamental grasses and liriope.

I work in a garden center and our display has KOs with daylillies and salvia.  In the spring they have petunias in front of that, the Fall we put pansies, pumpkins, and cabbage.  Right now it's all pansies. It's stunning.

  • Thanks!  I can't wait to get started.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate this weekend and I can get stuff planted.  Digging up the holly bushes there now is going to be a chore!!
