I now have about 15 Groupon's sitting in my account. I'm an addict...I have to stop! But hello? It's perfect for us poor folk who love to eat out, etc but can't afford it.

Someone needs to revoke my privledges!

I had never heard about this site before but went to it.  Looks great.  How does it work exactly?  You only get the deal if enough people buy the groupon too?  Do most of them end up w/ enough purchases?  And when do you pay?  Sorry for so many questions.

NO...but I did get the B&B "side deal". I figured it would be a fun noe-night vacation for ou anniversary since we're too broke to go on a real vacation!

They have a "goal" of how many people it will take for the deal to be "on". you can go ahead and buy then, or wait until the deal is on to buy. Once the target is reached, the deal is "on" and the payment is then confirmed. If not enought people sign up, and the deal if "off", then you don't have to pay. However; I've never had a problem with a deal being "off". Though I've bought a ton, average saving is around 50% which I think is pretty awesome. I signed up for a photographer this way, and I think the deal was worth $365 but I got it for $65...pretty sweet if you ask me!

Thanks for the tip on the side deal. I often forget to watch. That looks like a great B&B. Maybe I can get my parents to stay there for a night when they come visit at the end of the month.

It is so great. And if you have an iPhone, there's an app and then you don't even have to print it out, the business can just take the serial number down and use the Groupon from you phone.

I want an iPhone! lol. But we're going to wait until June/July when the next iPhone is rumored to come out.

Anyway, just bought the B&B deal. I hope I can book a night for my parents for next month. Since they probably will stay on a weeknight it shouldn't be too hard.

The curse of being a Mac person is that they're ALWAYS coming out with a newer version. I would highly recommend you wait for the newer version this summer though, Esther. Hands down, the iPhone can't be beat but I've heard the newer version will have a better battery life, which is my only complaint of them.

I know. I have a brand-spanking-new MBP to prove it . But I am anticipating the new iPhone for its multitasking and improved battery life. Right now I have a crappy HTC phone with Tmo with no data plan and even though I hardly use the darn thing I have to charge it about every other day.

That's so great!  I'm going to download the app.  I haven't bought any Groupons, but was pretty close to getting today's deal.

That's so great!  I'm going to download the app.  I haven't bought any Groupons, but was pretty close to getting today's deal. 

Yes, the app makes it ridiculously easy all the way around. A tad bit dangerous.
