MOH

My best friend just asked me to be her MOH in her wedding in November. I'm super excited but uh, I've never been a bridesmaid. Hope I don't eff this up. And then I read the "Matron of Honor" part. I know that it's correct but jeebus, I feel like an old lady.

Re: MOH

  • Congrats!! I think even though you're a first time MOH, it will be easier than you think since you've been on the bride side. I'm MOH for a wedding next year. The only thing that's concerning is they want a joint b-party in Vegas. As awesome as that would be, I'm worried about financing it.

Anyway... totes agree on the "matron" part. I'm going to just refer to myself as MAID of honor and hope no one calls me out on it. Matron sounds so..... elderly.

  • Yeah I hate "Matron" - I had to be a matron of honor a month after my wedding for a good friend and I'm doing it again next month for my sister.  It does make me feel old.  As far as never having done it - don't worry - like Mamie said, its a lot easier after you've been married, just get on top of planning the showers/b-party.
  • Oh so fun! I'm just a BM in a wedding this summer, so I don't have to be a matron just yet. I am sure you will do a great job though since you have been through the process yourself!
