Anyone been to Mazatlan?
If so, any suggestions on where to stay, what to do, where to eat, shop at?

Oh oh, I have! We went there for our honeymoon! It is so beautiful. We stayed at one of the El Cid resorts, Castillo Beach/El Moro Tower. El Cid is a really great way to go, b/c it is an all-inclusive (food, booze, water sports) stay for $150/night! Here is the website, you have to select Mazatlan (they have a few other locations) and then choose your resort (they have four in Maz. w/ different styles):

Also, while you're there you should take the city tour and def check out the clubs!

I have, but it was just for a day (it was one stop on a Mexican Riviera cruise DH and I took). I don't have much by way of suggestions, as we spent most of the day shopping and then drinking Coronas in a cute little bar, but we had a great time. It's beautiful there!
Sigh! It's been one of those days where I've been dying for a beach vacation.
I am right there with you, lol!

NesJes - I know you love to travel, do you use a certain website to book your travel or do you just follow the sales?
Also, do you and your DH take trips in or around AZ that are relatively inexpensive? We are in desperate need a weekend getaway.

We've taken the Mexican Rivera cruise twice now. Mazatlan was gorgeous. Do a zip line tour while your there it's an awsome experience. for shopping the Golden district as it's known is the place to go. also go watch the cliff divers (their crazy)
my favorite memory is laying out on the beach though. always a good time.
I've been wandering the vacation sites recently as we're dying for a beach vacation too.
We just follow sales sometimes. DH does all the research and he finds all the good deals. For hotels we usually find the best prices by booking with the hotel rather then on Hotwire, Hotels.com or any of those websites. But we do check all those websites first to see what is out there and what the prices are.
We haven't taken a trip in state in a long time, so I am not sure on that one. I know we went up to Sedona/Flagstadd but we didn't stay the night. I would love too in the winter time though.

Our friend is coming with us wants to do the zip line thing and a friend of ours did it while in Costa Rica and loved it. I did find a place so I think that is something we will do.
