Plan me a "date day"
Since today's already dragging for peeps...anyone want to plan me some options for some date days in GR/the lakeshore area?
So far I've got FMG, a picnic lunch, and bike riding...
Really up for anything, just looking for fun outdoorsy things to do, fun new restaurants to try, etc.
Re: Plan me a "date day"
Afternoon Whitecaps game.
Beach.
Zoo.
Kayaking or canoeing.
Golf (or mini golf).
I mentioned this in Chymes's GR Tour Guide thread, but there is a lot to do in the GH/Spring Lake/MKG area.
-Bike around downtown Grand Haven or Spring Lake
-Hoffmaster--lots of trails for hiking and the beach for swimming or sunning
My favorite restaurants in this area are:
Kirby Grill in Grand Haven
Morningstar in Grand Haven (only open until 2p.m.)
Snug Harbor in Grand Haven
Two Tonys in Spring Lake
Mia and Grace in Muksegon
Hearthstone in Muskegon
If you are comfortable biking longish distances and want a really active day, you could start with breakfast at Morningstar in Grand Haven and leave your car down there, bike up to Hoffmaster (approx 5 miles) with a picnic in your backpack, go for a hike and/or swim, have your picnic at Hoffmaster, and then bike back to Grand Haven.
Riley Trails and Pigeon Creek in Holland are places that I have enjoyed for mountain biking.
