K just called to say she isn't getting the raise at her job that she wants. She's been in a summer internship for the state and the division head wants her to be a regular staff employee but middle management is screwing around. This has nothing to due with budget cuts, just politics. So she calls me to tell me that if she doesn't get regular employee status she'll most likely quit b/c of the stress. She teaches 4 classes a week and has her dissertation to write so I agree that the extra job is not worth the time if it's not higher pay. Damn - so much for enjoying my unemployment status for a week or so! lol!
On a brighter note, two potential new jobs were just posted yesterday. I have good contacts at each agency so I'll be sending in those applications today. One is with the state school system which = state insurance which = total fertility coverage. That particular job is a bit of a long shot for me but I'm gonna try ::fingers crossed::
