Weekend plans?

What's everybody up to?  I know I'm supposed to be MIA but the board is quiet.  Come on - talk to me! :-)

Re: Weekend plans?

  • It has been pretty quit around here lately!

Tonight we are going to a Liz Phair concert.

Tomorrow we are picking up my new car and bringing it down to my dad's house so he can take care of a repair it needs.  While we are down there, we're going to stop in at a family party and that night hopefully see one of my best friends who is visiting from NY with his serious GF who I have not yet met!!

Then on Sunday I am going to hang out with with kids I'll be nannying for again.

C has to work on Monday (boo!!!), so I'll be hanging out at home, doing chores.

  • All of our weekend kinda look alike.  Stick out tongue

Tonight we'll probably go to Sams for weekly shopping.

Tomorrow the kids have Gymboree class in the morning, I have no idea what we'll do in the afternoon. Mostly it will depend on the weather - if it is nice, we'll be outside - playground/park/riding in their cars/playing ball/etc. If not, I have no idea. We definitely need to get to the grocery store.

Sunday morning we have their swimming lessons (I'll be so happy when they are over.) No idea about Sunday after their nap.  We may hang out with their nanny (she is going through some rough stuff and said she'd like the company.)

Monday I don't know what we'll do in the AM. After their nap, we are going to go the playground/park with our friend and her 20 month old son for playground time/picnic.

This is the first weekend in a long time we don't have every AM/PM mapped out.

  • Any minute now some good friends of ours will be coming to spend the night with their hilarious 4 year old son. Last time we saw them we met up with them camping. Elliott said, "I went canoeing today." I said, "Did you paddle" He said, "Noooooo, I sat in the middle and my two moms paddled." I heart him.  I am looking forward to seeing the family, and hoping he goes to bed so we can drink some wine and talk as adults, too :)

Tomorrow, I have a baby shower for a co-worker that I like. I actually was the money collecter and got to spend other people's money on awesome baby presents! I should wrap those adorable things this afternoon, too.

  • so our weekend plans were to go up to the lake tonight and be there for the weekend.  My friend Michelle (my moh) and her family are planning to come up on Sat for the day.  My inlaws and sil will be up at the lake as well.

This is all on hold right now since the dog is at the vet with S.  Yesterday when I got home from work he had a lump under his left eye.  I thought he got bit by a bug so I gave him a benedryl and went to bed.  It was worse in the am and we called the vet but couldn't get in until 3pm.  I am working today so S left work to take him this afternoon.  When she got home to pick him up it was even worse and he now seemed to be in pain.  The poor little boy!  S thinks he has an abecessed tooth.  From what we have read on the net he has the classic signs.

So instead of the lake we may have a dog recovering from oral surgery to remove the tooth and clean out the infection. S took him early so I should be hearing something soon.  Hopefully it doesn't cost major $$$$

So  much for a restful last weekend of summerTongue Tied

  • well Darwin is home and resting on pain meds and antibiotics.  He is having surgery on Wednesday so Sue will have to drop him off and I will pick him up after school.  The crappy thing is that it is going to cost $1000.  Which has put Sue and I in super craptastic moods!  Sue is now back at work since she has some things she needs to get out to the west coast by the end of the day and I have to pack us up so we can head up to the lake when Sue is done with work.  I think a cocktail is on the things to do list.  Thanks for the well wishes Brit.  Now aren't you glad you don't have a dog!
