Random Question

Some at work told me I needed to take the written test in order to get my OR driver's license, even though I already have one from another state. Is that true? I can't find that information on the DMV website. I just want to be prepared if that is the case.

Thanks.

Re: Random Question

  • Yup...it's true. I think it's true with mnay states. Which reminds me that I have to go in and take the test and get my OR DL!

  • Yep.  It's done on a computer and is pretty quick and painless.  And the people at the DMV are SUPER friendly here.
  • I will suggest that you just skim through the driver's Ed manual.  They like to try to trick you ;)  GL

  • Yes, that is true!  And I would definitely skim through the Oregon Driver's Handbook because driving laws, speeds, signs etc. vary from state to state, so what may be legal where you are coming from may not be here and vice versa.

  • Yep.True. Lame, but true. I need to get an Oregon one too since mine expired in February. We could have a DMV GTG. Haha.

  • Ditto the recs to read through the manual (which you can just pick up from any DMV).  DH did not thinking it would be fine and he failed the first time! Stick out tongue

  • Thanks! We didn't have to take a test in PA when we got our licenses there, so I was expecting it here.
