Do you love where you live?

We are looking to buy a house within the next year and are looking for areas to start looking.  We live/grew up in the south bay/ west side area but cannot afford to buy here so are looking to move out a ways.  It is really important to us that it be in an area that is safe (I can walk outside alone with my daughter), has good schools and has a small town feel with a lot of activities for children and families.  My husband works all over but a lot of work is centered in the valley area.  Our family all lives here so we wouldn't want to be too far.  Anyone have any recs?

Re: Do you love where you live?

  • I absolutely love where I live - I'm out in Ventura County, Moorpark to be exact.

  • We currently live in Calabasas and are about to move to Agoura Hills and we absolutely love it.  It also has one of the best school districts and safety ratings in LA county (which is why we chose the area).  I used to live in the south bay which was nice, but now I like the hills and the more serene feeling that we get here.

  • We live in the West Hollywood hills now, but we are looking to move to the Studio City/Toluca lake area.  It's so nice!!
  • We just bought a house in Echo Park. This neighborhood is so complete. We can walk to Elysian and Echo Park, great restaurants, and we're a stone's throw from Downtown. It feels very urban, yet a great small neighborhood and only 30 minutes from the westside on weekends!

  • We live right near Downtown Culver City and love it!  It's a small town feel and it's right off the 10 so close to everything.

For affordable neighborhoods I would like into places in the Valley (Studio City, Calabasas, Augora Hills like pp mentioned) and Mar Vista and Culver City on the westside.

  • Hi! So I saw your reply and I live in Studio City:)

It is an amazing place and if you are here already or thinking of moving here you will not be disappointed!
