what do you ladies think of it?
they claim is it safe to use and better for the environment (made form recycled tires, doesn't need tree wood to make, lasts a lifetime) and i've heard its better to have than wood mulch for insect reasons.
i need to get some new mulch for my flower beds, so i'm doing some research.
Re: rubber mulch
Best sound ever: baby's heartbeat! (Heard @ 10w1d)
NO.
When you think about "lasts a lifetime" and "insect reasons", keep in mind that you WANT insects in your mulch to HELP it degrade.
And while it's true that you don't need trees to make rubber mulch, think about all the manufacturing that DOES go into that product, and how that effects the environment.
"Safe" is open to debate, but we do know it is extremely flammable and difficult to extinguish.
But the mulch we get is from tree "waste" anyway? Our township collects tree branches from the residents, and grinds them into mulch and offers it back to us for free (or with a nominal delivery charge).
yeah, i decided to stay w/wood mulch.
cutesboots - that is awesome, i wish i could have that type of set up!
