Recommend your dentist

In the Concord area preferably.

Neither DH nor I have been to the dentist in a very long time. His dentist is now in jail for tax evasion and mine was a complete jerk. Pretty much the reasons why we haven't been in a long time. We really need to get cleanings done.

We are both wicked wusses about the dentist. It's not so much the pain I'm afraid of, but the pressure really bothers me and I have sensitive teeth. Anyone use a dentist that doesn't use all those scary tools? That would be great. TIA

Re: Recommend your dentist

  • Hmm, I went to school to be a hygienist in Concord but I'm having a hard time remembering the names of any dentists in the area. I'm sorry! I also just wanted to say that ALL dentists have all those "scary tools." They wouldn't be a dentist if they didn't have them. I'm sorry, I don't want to scare you but I'm just telling the truth. Honestly, between this post and the other dental cleaning post, I am just BAFFLED by how many people hate the dentist! I really wish I knew where this comes from. I try not to take it personally but wow, it puzzles me to no end. I consider myself to be a very good hygienist and I am known to be gentle, so maybe that's why my patients don't hate me!

Oh, and if you haven't been in a long time, the dentist you go to will want to do xrays probably before a cleaning. That's how it is where I work anyway. That way they can check to see if there are any serious issues going on before they just go in there and clean your teeth. Sorry I couldn't remember any names, it's been a while!

  • Yeah, I'm not a fan of the dentist because, one, mine was a jerk and very expensive. And, it's the whole, I can't see what's going on and am just waiting for the pain or pressure and then it comes as a surprise. I have anxiety issues, so the dentist doesn't help.

I figured since now I have dental insurance, I can go and afford it. I think I will need my wisdom teeth out too. They are all in, but they are crooked...really weird.

If you were closer, I would just go to you. :)

  • Good luck with finding someone good near you.  My dentist is in Merrimack.  They're not bad, but I have no idea if they are the most gentle...  let me know if you want the name though.
  • When we lived in Concord both MH and I went to Caring Family Dentistry on N. State Street.  Everyone there is really nice, and I am just about the biggest wuss you'll find (they give me nitrous before giving me novocaine and I had to take valium before my root canal).  I loved it there.  (603) 230-9719, Dr. Roy Modugno
