Anybody else?

So lately I have been worrying about how I am going to do everything. We are back to trying our best at not getting pregnant yet because of money issues again. Husband has a job but they have had to give him less hours the last couple of weeks and we aren't sue if that will be continued or if its just for right now. We also found out that the school I work at cannot afford to hire me this summer. So for three months we will be living on one paycheck unless I can manage to get a job (in was seems like to be a jobless world right now) and we have bills coming out of everywhere. Anyway at this moment in life I feel like I am the only one worrying about how I am suppose to make this all work. Sometimes I just wish I could pause my life and take a break and then press play when I want to get back in the game.

Thanks for listening.

  • We've been very fortunate not to have had problems with jobs, despite the troubles with the economy and things, but I hear you about the cutting back hours. Up until I started my new job a month ago, I was always fighting to get more hours and since I was only part time, it was especially difficult since there was a cap to how many I could get. Just keep pushing through, be smart about your money and do what you have to make ends meet. Good luck! I will be thinking of you both!

  • I hear ya. I am completely 100% biologically ready to be a mom, but we are in the same boat financially. If NY state doesn't pass a budget soon, then any non-essential gov't workers (my DH is one) are forced to have 1 unpaid day per week. This would start in the next week or two. basically in 2 days of work he would lose our rent payment. its a huge deal. That puts are debt paying on hold, our hopes of getting a house this year on hold, and pushes the baby making farther away.

I'm starting to realize tho, that being financially stable is a HUGE deal for me when we have kids, so I definitely want to be there before we start a family. It is so hard (especially when no less than 4 people I see on a daily basis are pregnant with UNPLANNED babies and all of them make less $$ than we do!)  I know it can be done, but I know it will be SO HARD for them to do it.

  • Just wanted to wish you the best during this tough time! You are NOT the only one with money worries, but when it's tough to make ends meet I totally understand that you FEEL alone. I think many of us have had to cut back on extras and things that used to seem like essentials, just to make our money stretch.

Good luck, and hope you find another job for over the summer!

  • Every day I worry about how in the world we are actually going to afford a new house.. Yes, we sat down and crunched numbers, and IF i get a job making so much/hr we will be okay.... but I don't have a job yet.. and we can't survive on H's income alone. .. our mtg will be 3x our rent!!!.... but our rent is only $370...so yah. i feel ya on the money situation..stressful!!!
