Moody Mondays?

How's your Monday treating you?  Mother's Day go well?

Re: Moody Mondays?

  • Painting was a great success this weekend at the ILs.  Living room is completely painted with new venetian blinds, and the bathroom is updated as well.  Sure, I'm dead on my feet today, but it feels good that we accomplished as much as we did.

We're having a disagreement, though, on the kitchen.  I think the ILs are blurring the line between things they'd like to have in their home and things that will make the house more marketable.  Their kitchen cabinets are ANCIENT and UGLY, and they're talking about putting in new countertops (which they can't afford).  If they do that, we're going to have to paint the cabinets (which will be a lot of work).  I don't think it's going to raise the value of the house, and more than likely, the first thing a buyer would do when they moved in is remodel the kitchen anyway.... seems like a waste of time to me...

    Moody. MoodyMoodyMoodyMoodyMoody.

I am so stressed out and beyond sad that my days in New York are dwindling so quickly. There is so much to do and so little time. I am not looking forward to saying goodbye to my friends and family and especially my sister. I am not looking forward to all of the tears and sadness that are inevitably approaching. *sigh* Moving away is so hard! Crying

  • Moody.  Definitely moody.  No one major thing, just a bunch of little things piled on top of waking up on the wrong side of the bed.  Stick out tongue
  • ILs drive me batty sometimes.

DH and I planned to visit my mom this weekend but didn't because she ended up getting sick.  They started interrogating me about what was wrong with her--I know in their socially awkward minds, they were trying to come across as caring.  It was the furthest thing from caring, though, and started dinner on an uncomfortable note (I could even read it in DH's body language.).  Also, they need to consider that not everything is their business, but whatever.  I'm not going to write a novel over this.

A few minutes later they started playing the interrogation game with DH: have you heard anything from any of the places you interviewed with, are you actually looking for a job on your own or only relying on recruiters, blah, blah, blah.  Seriously?  Do you people honestly see your son as a slacker who is not trying to find a job?

Their weirdness wouldn't be so bad if they also didn't talk in an extremely loud fashion, blow their noses at the dinner table, talk with their mouths full, double dip, and use their eating utensils to serve themselves off family style menus.  This is why I also try to limit dinner with them.

The good news is that I bought too new pairs of glasses this weekend and was fitted for new contacts which I needed desperately!

Are you having movers take your stuff so you and H can fly, or are you going to haul it yourselves?  If you stop in IN, call!

We're hauling our stuff and our selves across the country! I'm actually really excited about the trip, when I'm not stressing over the logistics. Embarrassed

  • Mother's day was alright...my grandma is in FL taking care of her mother so we didn't really do much since she wasn't here. I surprised my mom with a Mother-Daughter spa day in June that we are looking forward to.

So far Monday isn't too moody...I should have a fairly "easy" afternoon but we ill see how crazy the kids get.

  • Mother's Day was nice, but no mothers involved.  My Mom was out of town visiting her sister, but DH and I had a nice dinner out with my Dad.  We don't usually get to spend much time with just him, so it was really nice.

Today is definitely moody.  Our bookkeeper was a few minutes late this morning and the boss was so rude about it, she almost quit on the spot.  We've all been having trouble with him lately, but that's the closest anyone's come to quitting outright.  I don't think the day's going to get much better from there...

  • moody...and I don't really wanna talk about it.

Mother's day was alright though.  Both our moms loved their books.

  • Mine is not so good, I had to take my dog to the vet today because he has a lump on his leg that's been there for a while. It is getting bigger so I got concerned. She checked it out and said it looks benign but he has to come back in a month to see if it has gone down. If not, he has to be put to sleep and have it removed. It's really risky for him to be put to sleep because of his back. He positions himself to be comfortable and if he's asleep, they can injure his spine and can cause him to have a set-back as far as walking. :(

Anyway, I hope he doesnt have to be put to sleep. He needs to catch a break!

  • Moody...for sure. And I am such a brat, but I'm blaming it on pregnancy hormones.

DH made me so sad yesterday morning :(. I had low expectations for Mother's Day since I'm technically not a mother yet, but figured he would at least tell me Happy Mother's Day. My expectation was raised slightly when I woke up to hear him taking the dog out (which is always my job in the mornings) and feeding him (I should also mention that DH is a man of grand gestures...so this made me think he got creative). Then he comes back to bed and...nothing. Ok. I turned the TV on and an HOUR later...still nothing. Not even a mention of it being Mother's Day, even though I was watching the special Mother's Day 90210 episodes on Soapnet.

Ugh...it got worse from there, but I'll spare you the details. He finally figured it out (after he had to ask what was pissing me off), but it just set the mood for a crappy day...which it continued to be when we took MIL out for lunch (my shrimp weren't all cooked fully, the booth we were in was ridiculously uncomfortable and not big enough for all of us, and my back was hurting already)...then I got home and couldn't sit down until the entire place was cleaned up (nesting?), and I woke up this morning feeling like I haven't slept at all :(.

Also, today is cold and none of my "cold weather" clothes fit me - even my maternity jeans are too big...I bought them a little big on sale so they'd fit when I need them later in the pregnancy...so the jeans I have on are held up with a hair elastic and it is so uncomfortable. Ugh.

I just want to be curled up with my book at home, in comfy pants. And this was long and I'm sorry!
