Hardwood floor care rec.

What do you recommend to clean hardwood floors?  I imagine using a Swiffer WetJet and throwing away the pad everytime you clean your floor isn't very green, so I'm looking for an alternative.

  • I use a Method Omop, which comes with washable microfiber pads.  Works great!
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • you can use white vinegar and water too.

  • I use a steam mop for mine.  No chemicals, wash and reuse the pads.  Vinegar and water is even more EF because I use electricity to make the steam.
  • Right now I use a mop and Murphy Oil Soap. It works really well. I am looking into buying a steam mop though so I won't have to use any products.
  • I use a cleaning rag with water and vinegar.

I use a regular swiffer mop, a rag and a spray bottle with water and vineger. I just wrap the rag around the bottom of the mop and spray as I mop. Then toss the rag in with my white socks laundry (all my "yuck cleaning" rags are white so I can bleach them), since I wash my white clothes and my white socks seperate.

Oh thanks!  I went to Perth, Australia for a conference last year, and this picture was taken at a wildlife park just outside of Perth.  Gotta love the 'roos :)
