A few years ago DH and I went to South America and we stayed at this cool eco-lodge. It was prob $30 a night to stay at, it was nice, but "crunchy" too, like composting toilets (I still remember trekking the the bathroom in the dark, and it was freezing cold out, literally.. oh boy.. not to mention huge spiders).
Anyway I was just remembering how we went to go to bed and the sheets were navy. There was a big white spot on the sheets. I totally freaked out. Of course it was like 11pm so we weren't going to go wake the owners for new sheets. I cried a lot about it before we went to bed!
The lodge handwashed their sheets, which is fine, but maybe they should have looked at the sheets a little better before putting on the beds. So gross! From now on, if we go to a place like that, I'm bringing a liner (they make liners for sleeping bags or if you are going to a hostel or whatever).
