Has anyone had any experience with them? DH and I were looking at houses and are really interested in a Ryland home. You can PM me if you don't want to post. Thanks in advance!!!!

Re: Ryland homes?
We own a Ryland home. There are several reasons why I would not purchase another one. While I completely agree that it depends on your project manager, my main reason is that they underwrite their own service warranty. This means that if something is wrong there is no third party administrator and I have never talked to a real person. I can only send an email and then they direct me to deal directly with the vendor. Right now, I may have an issue that I need warranty work on but I am not sure that anyone is going to fix it without a lawsuit.
Where are you looking? I do not like that we have 2 A/C units, it makes our electric bill really high. I also have some issues with our sheet rock shifting that caused a repeated issue. It look me going to the highest levels to get it fixed.
I know that everyone has issues with builders and it has to do with who you know on the job site.

Married and it feels so good!
We own a Ryland home and are pretty happy with it. Our eclectic bill is really low due to great insulation, windows and building materials used in our development. The quality is (in my opinion and per all research we found) far superior to other builders in the price range. There are some minor issues that are pretty typical of new home construction and homes in Texas in general. We have been very happy with the service receive by them. We built 6 years ago and were very happy with our contractor, sales team and the home office. The HOA is a pain, but that has nothing to do with the builder.
Good luck,
