Grrr.... Trying to make a darn poll

Well it isn't effng working. Anyways  do you think you need to tell your boss why you want a day off? I asked for a day off and boss asked why. I had to tell him. Is that right or not? BTW I have to take it off to go up north to help out my friend who is having surgery and has 4 kids and hubby that she needs help with while she cant do stuff.

I don't think you should have to disclose why you are taking time off.  If they ask you should be able to tell them you are taking some personal time off and would rather not discuss it.

Hell no!  You need to look for a different job!  Your "boss" sounds like he's running a prision camp.  What a jerk!

Tell him you are having major cramps and clotting due to a very heavy period this month...see what he says to that!  What an asshat!

The only time I have to give a reason for my time off is when I use a sick day, which I get paid for.  Everything else does not have to be explained.  That's why it's called "personal" time off.

Then after he says yes  he goes  how long did it take for you two to come up with this arrangement and how it was going to wk. WTF  whatever. I so need a new one but what is out there?

ohh and he was like how are you going to afford that? I couldn't not say anything - said that she was paying me to take care of the kids while she was having surgery, etc. so that was no worry. He somehow knows about my financial situation from my co worker so he sticks his nose in everything. I feel backed into a corner. I don't know how to get another job, when to do it, etc.
