Hi ladies! DH and I are trying to plan a trip to Virginia, and I'd love your help! We're wanting to do a "wine tour" of some wineries in the area. We're from Ohio, so after looking at
this website, it looks like we'll be focusing on the Shenandoah Valley Region or the Northern Virginia Region.
I guess I'm just looking for as much info as you can give me. What wineries are good to check out? Any recs of other things to do in the area? Any advice on where to stay?
Thanks!

Re: Wineries
I would suggest considering the Charlottesville area. If you click that section on the website you linked, you will see there are many wineries clustered in that area. I have visited many of them and there is quite a variety. It's fun to just visit many and really explore to find out what you like, as everyone has different tastes.
As for other things to do, you can visit Shenandoah National Park, if you're into great mountain views and hikes. It's a short drive.
How many wineries are you wanting to go to?
I live in SW Va and off the top of my head there is Valhalla vineyards in Roanoke and Chateau Morrisette in Floyd. You could go hiking to the cascades just past Blacksburg and there are tons of hotels/B&B you could go to in the area.
