BR: can someone just tell me what stroller to buy?
so expensive! so many different kinds/uses!
I thought I had it narrowed down to 2 (Peg Perego Vela, Baby Jogger City Mini), but now there are things I may not like about either of them. (I figured with discounts, I could get both of them at a decent price).
What do you have/like/not like?
Re: BR: can someone just tell me what stroller to buy?
I have the City Mini Double and I LOVE it. Seriously, looooooove. With the intensity of a thousand suns.
I haven't tested the single model, but the double is fabulous - very light (for a double stroller), very maneuverable and easy to push (I can easily push and turn it with one hand), and this might sound dopey but it has great sun visor thingies (whatever they're called - the canopy bits that go over the top of the kid; they have excellent cover - other strollers I looked at had smaller ones that didn't provide as much coverage).
I haven't looked at the Peg Perego Vela, but I DID consider a Peg Perego double stroller (can't remember the name, whatever the comparable model to the City Mini Double is) and although it wasn't bad, it wasn't as nice as the Baby Jogger - heavier, not as smooth to push, etc. Don't know if that's true of all of their models or if it was just the double.
Uppa Baby Vista.
We got an UppaBaby Vista. It was definitely a splurge, but MH and I both fell in love with it due to its maneuverability and (mostly!) its height. We're both tall, and I loved how tall the handles were as well as the seat height (a back saver!). The fact that we both could push it and walk at our normal pace (quite fast, with long strides) without kicking the bottom was a huge plus, too (something I couldn't do with many others we tried).
With that said, baby's not here yet, so we haven't actually used it. So I have no real-world experience to share. But we love it so far, enough to justify the price (for us!). I especially like how it comes with both a regular stroller seat and a bassinet that are interchangable.
Get the Baby Jogger City Mini

We have the Bugaboo Bee. It's awesome to push, easy to fold up, and really lightweight. We don't use it though, b/c Brooke hates being confined in the straps. (Ugh)
We also have the Mia Moda Atmosferra. It's a little bigger/bulkier, but maneuvers well, is more economical and she can face us when we push her around. She can also sit up straight and I like the little tray it comes with.
Here's a review:

I have my eye on the Baby Jogger City Select. It looks AMAZING if you are planning to have another baby! (Though it is pricey)

My concern with the city mini is that they say the seat slouches and the kids can't sit up straight. have you found this to be true?
I don't know about the City Mini, but I know this used to be a complaint with the UppaBaby Vista, but they fixed it for the 2010 model, and now it does. I would check with the manufacturer directly and ask, rather than going off of reviews (for a specific feature like that). Oftentimes they fix it for the next year's model when people complain.

We bought the Bob Revolution but now that I've seen the color choices for the Baby Jogger City Select, I'm getting a twinge of buyer's remorse and serious stroller envy. Yes, based on something as superficial as color.
Not in my experience but then my kids are still lying down. The seats seem OK to me even when up though (just tested by raising and then pressing on them with my hands). I never read this as a criticism when I read a ton of reviews before buying it...maybe it wasn't a problem on the double?
Got this review off of amazon:
I've owned this stroller for two years now...
Pros: lightweight, amazingly easy fold, good steering, best canopy on the market
Cons: We live in the city with lots of cobblestones and uneven pavement and the tires and suspension are just not very smooth as your child gets heavier. Wish I had purchased the City Elite or Bob Revolution with larger inflatable tires and better suspension. If you plan on doing walking other than indoors or perfectly paved surfaces, seriously consider better tires. Also, the seat is only made of fabric and never goes fully upright so baby sits slouchy...some of this was improved by cutting a piece of thick cardboard the shape of the seatback and inserting in between the fabric (there is an opening so just slide in like an envelope). Now seatback has a bit more support---although still not fully upright. Lastly, when our child was much lighter, the stroller would tip over with any amount of weight on the handle bar. Now that she's heavier, less of an issue but if bag is hanging off the handles and you remove your child, it always falls over---annoying especially when in public.
Overall, this stroller is great but it is best suited for those who will use it only indoors or on very smooth surfaces. As a sidenote, BJ customer service has been awesome. When I got the stroller, the seat fabric had a run in it. BJ sent me a brand new one within days.

We have the Baby Jogger City Classic in chocolate brown. The difference between the CIty Classic and the City Select is the shape of the canopy (square vs round), color choices and the City Classic is a tad smaller/lighter. LOVE IT!!! The wheels are hard core, very good for walking on uneven surfaces.
BUT, it's a pain to put the infant car seat in so I use the Snap 'n Go more. THAT is why I recommend the BOB, because it works much better with the infant car seat. The City Mini is also good with the infant car seat. The larger Baby Jogger strollers are great when the baby can sit in them on their own, but the adapter makes the car seat stick out and not sit in the carriage, so they are not ideal. Does that make sense?

love the BOB. Didn't consider anything else after see my friend's.
We don't have an infant car seat so I don't have the adapter and can't review that. Jack is still so small we have only used it a few times - like when I know he will be sleepy and want to take a nap b/c I don't want him to be awake b/c babies his age get overstimulated when facing out. But the few times we have used it I love it!
Interesting! Now I need to go find some bigger/older kids to test this on lol!
