Bento lunches

Okay, so my long awaited bento box has arrived from Japan, and I have no idea what our first bento should be! Anyone have any favourites? Recipes?

Oooo! I would love to see a pic I love bento boxes!

I love making chicken katsu and tempura broccoli & shrimp. It's the only way I can get MH to eat broccoli. I also like making salmon teriyaki. Sometimes I make king crab california rolls too but I cut myself a lot while getting the crab meat out of the crab because the king crab shell is so spiny and hard! BUT the yummy crab meat from it is soooo worth it!

Hurray for bento!  My parents have a ton of them but for some reason I never really used them.  I'd do a classic old-school of rice, umeboshi, fried egg thingy, and grilled fish, and then some goma-ae in a little cupcake liner on the side, and pickles

If I didn't have a fear of deep-frying, I'd make chicken kara-age with a little green salad and potato salad.

I'd also do tonkatsu on shredded cabbage!

This guy at work brings them all the time, all wrapped up in a handkerchief and everything.  

 Have fun!

I'm insanely excited, but I'm also terrible at getting up in the am to cook... so whatever I do, I have to do it the night before.

Kinda throws a kink in my rice plans.  I wish I had a rice cooker that had a timer I could set the night before!
