Teachers - anyone else feel this way?

I'm really sick of state tests!  We've had 5 in the last 2 weeks.  These poor kids are tested out and I'm sick of losing valuable instruction time.  I lose the same class each time since they don't change the schedule and I feel like I haven't seen certain kids in weeks!  I'm tired of this - and it's only May!  What's going to happen next month for finals?  UGH!

I teach high school so we don't have all the state tests, but my friends who teach lower grades always say how much they don't like them. When I look at our district calendar it does amaze me that they are all so close together. I feel for the kids. Come Regents time some of my special Ed students wind up taking multiple tests everyday if they fail the regents and then need the RCT. Poor kids.

Yeah same here. It is really crazy. With so many days out of class, I am rushing to finish my curriculum. SO annoying!

Ours in VA are starting up next week.  I am super annoyed since I'm being pulled to proctor every test, all three grade levels (here it's just 3-5) and every test (math, science, social studies, english).  I am missing my groups enough as it is with the end of the year chaos (picnics, field trips, etc), now I won't see them for several more weeks.  I don't mind helping out, but having to help at every testing session annoys me.

I'm sooooo sick of it and we have to give the field test on monday too! Just another way to take away my teaching days. I'm already NOT finishing my curriculum this year!

We had 2 days for ELA, 2 for Math and now the field test today.  The field test is crazy, all these different color tests you have to match up.  Some tests are harder than others and you don't know which is which.  I told my kids to just try their best but some of the tests were crazy!

grreeaatt! I'm not looking forward to that. We get to give it Monday b/c our 8th graders are in Washington on their class trip! :-/ Just 1 less day of instruction I get and I REALLY need the time!

Our kids are in DC too so they got out of taking the field test.
