Caylee's mom

was arrested again last night. It was a big spectacle if you didn't see it on the news last night; for stealing a friends check book. Sounds like they are buying time doesn't it?

We've been talking about this a lot at work lately... one lady's theory made me really think--- what if it were an "accident' or even Casey murdered her... she buried the body. Then the grandma (Cindy) found out, and told her that the police would obviously find it. They dug up the body used the missing gas cans to go out and burn the body so no one would find anything....  I think thats a believable theory- but then the interesting part--- why as a grandma would you go along with this? Would you go so far to protect your daughter? Your granddaugther is already dead, would you risk losing your daughter to jail for the crime? Or would you cover it up?

It really got me to thinking. I'd think no, I wouldnt cover up something so horrible; but none of us has really ever been in that situation either...

The lady at work also thinks the dad wasn't in on it until recently and thats why he is so pissed, but he just found out but really can't do anything about it at this point without everyone being in more trouble then they already are...

What do you think? (hope this isnt too controversial, I just found that whole thought process very interesting.... )

  • one lady's theory made me really think--- what if it were an "accident' or even Casey murdered her... she buried the body.

I think it's pretty obvious that Casey did something pretty bad, accidentally or not.

Take your pick: She waited over a month to report it, she tried to frame a random woman who had no real contact with the Anthonys for kidapping, she claimed to have worked at Universal two years after being fired and other assorted lies to authorities, Cindy reporting a dead-body odor to 911, cadaver dogs reacted to a freshly-opoured concrete driveway......the list goes on and on.

WRT why Cindy defends her - who the hell knows, that woman is a first-class whack job. IMO she was one of those way overpermissive parents and Casey grew up thinking that she could do anything at all w/o consequences.

Sadly, this arrest was only for check fraud so she'll probably get bailed out. Certainly she won't get life in prison over this charge alone. What I don't get is why they can't charge her with obstruction of justice of nothing else.

  • Yeah I believe she did something- but until there is complete proof, no one can say it 100%.... but I just wonder what happened. And if it was an accident, wouldnt you be sad??? I mean- she must be crazy---if my kid was missing for more than 5 mins i'd be a basketcase!
  • Sure, you and I would be sad to lose a child - but Casey's a sociopath who's obviously cares only about partying. That's why I have doubts that this was an accident. If it was, seems to me she would have called the authorities in mid-June when the child went missing, not waited a damn month and tried to frame an innocent woman for kidnapping.

  • I really don't think it was an accident at all.  Caylee was having way too much fun afterwards for it to be an accident.

I read somewhere a psychologist was deconstructing the mind of a sociopath.  They said that when a sociopath convinces themself of something being a problem in their life, something interfering with what they want to do, when they get rid of it (killing it, getting rid of it, etc.) they go through an elation phase where they go party, have fun, and are extremely happy.

Like the mother that killed hr husband and then went on a trip with all her kids to disneyland.

If it really was an accident and she freaked out then I think she would have at least had some guilt about it.  I think either she did it herself out of spite against her mother or she gave her away or had someone else get rid of her for her.

I definitely don't think it was an accident IMO.

Very true.  Unfortunately I still don't think there's enough proof to prove she actually killed Casey.

Yes they have proof of decomp but they still can't 100% equivocably say that it's casey post mortem or prove that Casey did it.  Her attorney is being smart and not letting his client say a word.

The State Attorney's Office is putting out the plea deal as an effort to make her talk but I really don't think that Casey really has a reason to.  Other than the fact that she's lied, unless they find a body and can prove Casey did it she can keep being quiet and no one can prove anything really.

  • I think Casey's mother didn't know at first, and that's why she called the authorities.  It was just too weird to report a dead body odor and then turn around and say it was rotting pizza?  Who leaves pizza in their trunk in a bag?  I think after her mom called the police, Casey told her what happened and they have both been trying to cover it up ever since.  It's all so sad though - there are people who still believe the little girl is missing and are spending time and energy looking for her.

Well, but she is still missing. Until she is found, either dead or alive, she is a missing child.

She has been charged with Obstruction of Justice. That charge accompanied the Child Neglect charges.
