Shower gift for twins - what would U do?
So, I'm curious about what everyone else would do...
I have a cousin's baby shower in a couple of weeks. She's having a boy and a girl. I spent $60 total on the gifts (plus two cute inexpensive bibs that weren't on the registry).
Today, I was thinking that if it would be one baby, I would've spent $50 on the gift. If it's twins, should I have spent $100?
What would you do?
Re: Shower gift for twins - what would U do?
I would do the same as you. the shower is for the mom, not the baby.
I have a friend who has a 23 month old girl and is having b/g twins this month. I plan to only get boy clothes since they have tons of girl clothes leftover from the 1st.
but surely a new girl outfit or 2 would be fun for the mom I think! I understand your reasoning just commenting on what I'd want if I was the mom...
I would not spend double on twins.
I would double the gifts but not spend double the money. Example: For one kid, I'd buy $50 worth of baby bath stuff. For twins, I might spend $70 and get two blankets, two onesies, two pacifers and two toys. I think it would be weird to be having twins and just get one outfit or one pair of socks
The point is to prepare the mom for what she'll need and for lots of things, she'll need two. You can do that without spending exactly twice the amount.
If you want to skip the doubling, just buy stuff that works for two kids as well as one--lotions, shampoos, brush and comb, first aid kit, diapers, pack of washcloths, etc.
