Soo... I am on a mission

to lose 30lbs by my birthday party in September smile.gif

And to lose a total of about 75...

So i took the leap and signed up for Weight Watchers. I start tomorrow night at 7. I am going to go to the class that caters to people who need to lose 50 or more pounds (or people who have lost 50 or more). I was going to go to a regular class time, but I'll wait a bit. I don't want to be discouraged by all the skinny girls who are just there to maintain weight.. We have a lot of that here...

Also, on Monday, I am going to start the couch to 5K program. I have heard a lot of reviews on it and am hoping I can pull it off. I think I am going to blog about the whole thing....  Even post *gulp* pictures of me that are more then just chin up, haha...  I think it'll be a great motivational tool.....  Wish me luck ladies!

  • You can do it!!!!! And when you start having doubts, come here and we'll tell you AGAIN that you can do it!!!

I think taking pictures is great motivation and kudo's to you for posting them on here. lol

What is the couch to 5K program? I've heard about it but don't know what it is!

  • GL! you will do great.

For the couch to 5k program you may want to repeat many of the weeks, I think that it is better that way it gives your body time to adjust rather than ramping up all the time.

Let me know if you need anything as far as questions workout wise!

  • I have a friend who recently received her 8th 10 lb. ribbon (pin?) from WW.  She loves the program.  Good luck and be sure to keep us posted on your progress!
  • http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml here is a link for information about the couch to 5K. It basically helps you train to be able to run a 5K in 9 weeks.... but it doesnt make you feel bad if you are a few weeks behind!

And thanks for the support Stacy! I am going to need all the help I can get I think, haha!

Yeah I think it is goin to take me a few more then 9 weeks to get it. With all the extra weight I have on me, I am going to have a hard time with it until I get used to it again. I might try to space it out to 12 weeks to start...

I have to do something like this too. The gym is down the street and I just need to get off the couch and go there.

I always do better when I'm working out with peeps.

  • How exciting!!!! You can totally do this!!!!

I did WW about 6-7 years ago. I was almost up to 185-190 large ones. I dropped 55lbs in about 6 months and have managed to keep most of it off. I lose and gain the same 10 pounds now.  What I loved about WW is it teaches you how to eat. So once you  stop the program you can still carry on and maintain...

I did it all online, I am sooo not  a in your face group meeting girl. A friend of mine has lost 100 on WW and has kept it off! So awesome!

There will be weeks when you might not even lose a pound and platue, and you just have to push through it and not get discouraged.

  • Thanks for the support everyone! This is going to be a serious lifestyle change and I am sure it's going to be hard so when I get really whiney on here I hope you all understand, haha!

  • My sister has done WW and she loved it she lost 40 lbs and then she has done pretty good maintaining it.  It even helped her after having her daughter!

Since i have already bought my wedding dress i want to just lose 10 lbs or so before the wedding then after the wedding it is on like donkey kong because heart issues and diabetis runs in my family and i want to be as fit as possible before we try for babies... I will have about 70lbs total to lose.

You can do it! also have you checked out mountain side fitness they are here in Surprise um i think off of bell and reems but i am not sure on the exact location :) i haven't heard to many good things about Fitness 1 tha is right there on greenway and the 303 i heard it was super crowed there.

  • You can do it! I did couch to 5k and lost 25 without dieting. Just running lots. Took a few months off, and my new goal is to run a half marathon and lose 50 pounds by the end of the year.

    God luck!!

Congrats on taking the steps to get healthy and lose weight.  I planned on starting to loose the weight I gained with my thyriod cancer this month but got really sick and haven't been able to get over it yet.  Once I am back to healthy I plan to kick it in to highgear...I have my cruise coming up and I want to feel good in a swimsuit again.
