Wednesday funny...

**pt information changed for privacy purposes...just emailed this to one of our physicians about his patient. Pt is in her 70's

I just spoke to Jane Doe. She did not show for her infusion appt last week as she has a broken arm and can only drive with 1 arm right now. It gets better- she has lost vision in 1 eye. I told her she probably should look into having someone drive her since she hasn't made the trek to Ausin since the vision loss, she said "Oh no, my dr said that there are lots of people that drive with 1 eye and I'm fine to drive." That's one for the books! I think I'll look into telecommuting!

Re: Wednesday funny...

  • Can't be worse than texting drivers, right? :P
  • I have a friend who is blind in one eye, and he drives fine. But he was born blind in that eye, so he doesn't know any different. If I lose a contact though, and can't use one eye, I'm totally off kilter.

So, given that her vision loss is recent AND she can't use one arm, I would definitely want to avoid her on the road, but not necessarily all drivers with one eye.
