Officially scared

DH is out of town in Dallas and won't be able to make it back into the city before the storm. As if that were not enough, most of the people on my street have left, and those who haven't have their house boarded up. My FIL doesn't like animals, so he won't let me bring Charlie over to their house. One of my girlfriends who lives in NOLA is evacuating to my house tomorrow. I wish she would come tonight and keep me company! I could really use some distraction to keep me from freaking out!!!

Re: Officially scared

  • Is there anywhere/one that could take the puppy? I'm with you though, I was talking to my friends this afternoon, and no one has been through anything like this. With one exception. A guy was in 4th grade when hurricane Camille hit in 1969 he was in Biloxi he said you could see the cars just get stacked on top of one another. I don't think we're going to see anything like that. Camille is the worst on record and none of us are on the coast. So I was hoping that helped. Did it. I was hoping my infamous foot in mouth disease didn't come out. Just think of all the great drinks and stories you and your girlfriend will share over the next few days.

  • I am so sorry your FIL doesn't like animals neither does mine.  That is the reason we are not going to his summer home.  I DH I am not chaining my dogs up to a tree in the woods for some animal to come and eat.  I hope your friend gets to your house early.  GL and stay safe!!!
  • I really can't imagine that your FIL is so awful that he won't let you evacuate with your dog. Wow. Girl, if you and your dh AND YOUR DOG want to evacuate to IL come on up! I am dead serious.
  • Hey LSU! I'm sorry that DH wont be back. I can't imagine being alone at a time like this. If you do decide to evacuate, we might have an extra dog friendly room in jackson (well be at my step moms house, and they'll be five dogs already, so one more wont matter). ?Email me.. screen name @ aol.com?

  • LSU, I'm in Covington and we're staying.  Scared to death to, but we're staying.  If you need anything (from an inexperienced hurricane gal) let me know.  I can e-mail you my phone number.  kar6306 @ yahoo

It's just me and the hubby and all the animals and Jimmy, our generator.

  • Be safe girl! I heard on MSNBC this morning you could bring animals to the local shelter and they would register them for you and keep them safe if you could not take them with you when you exacuate. The poor pup he is so sweet :) GL TO you :)?
