Legal Advice Needed (pss Jen come in)
Anonymous person A's parents divorced when said person was 3 yrs old. In the divorce decree it is stated house that Mom had to put the house in the child's name when they turned 18. (House was bought by Dad)
This has not been done. Is Mom in contempt of court for not doing so? Mom has been renting out said house for over 20 years.
If person A decided to hire an attorney...what are the chances this will go in his/her favor? Could Mom legally put up a fight?
Thanks and any advice is welcomed.
Re: Legal Advice Needed (pss Jen come in)
it sounds pretty straight forward that the house should have been transferred to A when A turned 18. at least from that agreement. BUT i haven't seen the agreement, and it might have been a contingent transfer...meaning it could have been depending on something else happening that didn't happen.
i think A is entitled to see all the documents surrounding the house, but it seems that something else may have happened to effect the transfer.
email me if you have any more specific questions or want me to look at a document!
