Last PW - want a bento box?

Here's where I got mine from. They're shipped directly from Kyoto to your door, even though the prices are in Euros. Seriously, it's a great deal. They're really sturdy and much nicer than the ones off ebay (which are mostly ones you'd find in a dollar store).

Re: Last PW - want a bento box?

  • Coolio, thanks!  I'll add this to my "I-wanna-buy-when-I-get-some-fun-money" list.
  • There's more online sites to buy bento boxes and accessories on this blog by Susan Yuen. I just bought her first bento cookbook so I can get started making some cute lunches....eventually. Smile
  • Your comment about the dollar store reminded me of store called the 100 Yen store that I went to a lot when I lived in Japan.  100 yen is roughly the same amount as a dollar, so it's the same concept as the dollar store, but it's way nicer.  I got most of my dishes there 5 years ago and still have some of them.  They've survived 4 different moves (DH is in the military, so we move a lot).  It surprised me how good of quality the dishes were, because they were only 100 yen each.
  • I loved my local hyaku-en store too! That's where I got my first bento box from! I didn't bring it back with me when I moved back to Canada, and I'm still bummed about it. =( Where did you live in Japan?

I lived in Okinawa, which is a small island south of mainland Japan.  I was there for two years and loved every minute of it.  It's where I met DH and discovered my love for sushi.  I'm looking forward to our move to Hawaii, because DH told me a lot of Japanese people vacation there, so there is a big Asian influence.  I'm hoping it will be a little like Okinawa!
