I don't think I am normally a hard person to please. I try to be easy going and give people the benefit of the doubt, but .... UGH!... the lady at the eye glass place (aka PissyPants) is driving me NUTS. Here's the breakdown:
1. I need new eyeglasses with my updated perscription. Tuesday I called to see how late they are open, and PissyPants says "6pm, but you need to be here by 5". I reply "Oh, I don't need an exam, I just want to see if you have any frames I like." "You need to be here by 5!" Way to be welcoming to new customers!
2. Wednesday we get there at 5:05 and find frames that I really like, but PissyPants refuses to search in the system to find out how much they will cost with our insurance. She requires to see my eye insurance card (which is at home). We know the search functions works since DH got eyeglass quotes from 2 other locations without his card last month, but PissyPants refuses even after the eye doctor tells her it is possible.
3. Thursday morning I call back the next day and give PissyPants all of the information on my card. Well, this is completely unacceptable since it doesn't have the member number! Seriously!?! That's all the info I have.
4. I register online to get my member number. Call PissyPants back and give her this number. She's pretty busy apparently so she won't be able to get the quote until the afternoon. Not sure what she's got going on, but whatever.
5. Haven't heard from her at 4:30, so I call and PissyPants hasn't had a chance yet to get the quote. Do you really want to sell these glasses or not?
6. Calls me this morning and says my member number doesn't work. That would have been nice to know yesterday morning! But she takes my DOB because she'll be able to look it up by that! Really? Why couldn't we do that on Wednesday? Ugh!
The worst part is this store has the BEST selection of frames I have ever seen. But I think I might say something to the doctor because this is getting ridiculous.
Re: Who knew getting new glasses was so hard!
This exactly! My complaint with shopping for glasses is that my eye doc usually sends me out to look at frames while waiting on my pupils to dilate so I can't see a darn thing! There have been some I picked out but once I put my contacts in I was like heck no!
I would def be going to another place to buy glasses!
